Every Sunday at MHCC, one third of the people in attendance are children! That’s 75-100 kids that our incredible team of volunteers get to share the love of God with every week.
Among that team of volunteers are the leaders of MHCC Kids, who have had a vision burning in their hearts to make the classrooms a more fun and inviting space. From the time we moved into this building 11 years ago, everything in the MHCC Kids classrooms has needed to be neutral and temporary, so the rooms could serve the purpose of a conference center during the week. The rooms are dark, the tables and chairs are way t
oo big for the young kids, and the space available for toys and activities has been minimal.
Now that we no longer rent out the building as an events center, we get to prioritize that 33% of our congregation by making the MHCC Kids classrooms more kid-friendly!
The updates planned will not only make for a fun and inviting environment for children but will also make things easier on parents and volunteers. This will include bright and colorful rooms, appropriately-sized tables and chairs, better storage solutions, media systems in each room, and clearly marked, permanent check-in stations. There will be more options for engaging, multi-sensory lessons, and there will be less setup and tear down for the volunteers.
We would like to invite the congregation to partner with us in raising money specifically for the upgrades to MHCC Kids.
With the help of volunteers and fundraising, we will be able to complete this project over the summer! The total budget and fundraising goal is $15,000. So far we have raised $8,917.
We ask that you please consider contributing to this project. Every little bit will help us reach our goal. You can give online, on a Sunday, or by mail.
JR made an announcement about these upgrades on Sunday the 24th. Listen below!
